Hidden Depths
I hand painted a sunset to use as the basis for this tropical picture. The aim being to create a calm surface with all the colour and zest of life below in the depths. I have used a fusible applique technique combined with the snippets technique, embroidery and goldwork. The shells are part of my collection from Sri Lanka. This is my first art quilt and it has been a steep learning curve, inspired by the magnificent quilts produced by a friend of mine Christine Fries Ureel in America. May I one day produce something close to her perfection!
