From Light Years Away
As a new quilter, I wanted this challenge to help me practise important techniques. The inspiration of the cosmic theme lead me to think of comets and the challenge fabrics were so vivid that I realised a small quantity would be effective in a strong but simple design. I used the Fibonacci series, translated the figures into fabric and practised sewing long strips accurately. The machine quilting was in the ditch and I hand embellished with crochet cotton and tiny beads.
