The Timeless Garden

I came across a mosaic block design which resembled a section of a parterre garden. Six blocks arranged on point became my garden. The floral centre beds are surrounded by dry gravel paths, herbs and flowing rills of cool water, all bordered by bright hedges beloved by butterflies. The background is dark in contrast and careful construction of the shot cotton allows a changing play of light and enhanced by the quilting creates an ethereal quality. The softer corner sections contrast with the geometric garden.
Machine paper pieced blocks, needle turned appliqué and machine quilting using monofilament thread and alcazar embroidery thread.
