Ombre Ripples - The JJR version

Ombre Ripples - The JJR version

Say hello to my latest quilt pattern! This is Ombre Ripples and I designed it with the Ombre Junior Jelly Rolls in mind; the ones that featured the then-new ombre colours from Vanessa Christenson at Moda Fabrics. This is the throw size.

Don't let those little triangles scare you. They are small Half Square Triangles but amazingly, once trimmed to size, all my units and seams matched up!

I chose contrasting background colours for this version. The background creates a secondary design.

The finished size of this throw size quilt is 51" square. I quilted it in a crosshatch pattern using King Tut 978 Rosetta Stone. Doesn't it look great on the backgrounds?

I love how the thread fades in and out on the black particularly.

I'm now working on a bed-sized version using pastel colours of ombre and a black/grey background.

Quilt in summary:
Finished size: 51" square
Fabric: Plain Ombre Junior Jelly Roll designed by Vanessa Christenson + Kona Cotton in Black and White
Wadding: Hobbs 80/20
Thread: King Tut 978 Rosetta Stone
