The Ruby Star Society Swatch Quilt

The Ruby Star Society Swatch Quilt

Earlier this year the Ruby Star Society shared their free Spring quiltalong project for this year, the Swatch Quilt. It was designed to be made with their Warp and Weft Wovens.

I loved the quilt, but didn't have any of their wovens but what I did have were the delicious Kaleidoscope Plaids and Stripes woven fabrics designed by Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics.

There are twenty fabrics in that collection and I chose twelve which I thought created a pleasing colour spectrum.

The quilt is super quick and easy to make. You can download the pattern from Moda Fabrics website here.

Vertical parallel lines work really well for quilting this quilt. I quilted mine in King Tut 921 Cleopatra. I backed it with the Cloud Plaid and bound it with the Charcoal Plaid.

I'm really pleased with the finished quilt; it makes a great picnic quilt to take with you when you are out and about.

You can buy kits to make the quilt here and don't forget to download the free pattern from Moda's website.
