Quiltette Challenge 2009

The fabrics for this year's challenge are from Robert Kaufman. The first fabric is from the Island Sanctuary collection and the second fabric is a shaded co-ordinating fabric. There is no theme to the challenge but you can use the fabrics for your inspiration. You may use more than one pack if you wish.

The Rules

  1. The finished size of your quiltette should measure 24" by 30".
  2. A 3" sleeve must be attached to the back for hanging purposes together with a label containing the entrant's name and address.
  3. All entrants must purchase one pack of the challenge fabrics @ £5.00 (inc. P&P). Each pack contains a fat ¼m of the frond fabric and a long ¼m of the shaded fabric. There must be a recognisable amount of each of the challenge fabrics in the quiltette. Any number of extra fabrics may be added.
  4. The quiltette must be have three layers and must be quilted.
  5. Entry must be made by completing an entry form (included with each challenge pack), which together with the quiltette, must be sent to The Crafty Quilter by 31 August 2009. Entry is free but a contribution towards the cost of returning the quiltette is payable at the time of entering. The quiltette will be returned by recorded delivery.
  6. The quiltettes will be judged by independent judges and their decision will be final.
  7. The Crafty Quilter reserves the right to use photographs of the quilts in any publicity.
